Biography

Francisco J. Monaldi, Ph.D. is the Wallace S. Wilson Fellow in Latin American Energy Policy and Director of the Latin America Energy Program at Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy. He also teaches energy economics at Rice University and is a nonresident fellow at Columbia University’s Center on Global Energy Policy. A leading expert on the politics and economics of energy and natural resources in Latin America, Monaldi has advised governments, international institutions, and major energy companies worldwide. He has held academic appointments at Harvard, Stanford, Columbia, and other leading institutions, and is widely published on energy policy, resource governance, and political economy, including the economic collapse and political economy of Venezuela.

He holds a Ph.D. and an M.A. in political science (political economy) from Stanford University, an M.A. in international and development economics from Yale University, and a B.A. in economics from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello

Guest Policy

Guests may register in advance for $30 or at the door for $35. Please arrive at 9:30 am to check in. Advance registration opens one month before each event and closes the Wednesday before each event. There is no cost for WACHH members to attend.
